I 100% disagree with Mr Legal Eagle when he said there is not a single channel on YouTube that people watch it for the editing. They might not consciously think that. BUT editing is pacing and story telling. A good editor when they are at their best is like a conductor for an orchestra. I you are doing basic things like a news story there is still creative story telling choices to be had. Maybe to a lesser to degree with simplistic talking head content ... but he clearly doesn't understand the importance editing is to a project. If it is a movie for example you have no movie ... yards and yards of randomly footage. Star Wars was famously saved in the edit. It wouldn't have been the phenomenon it was if George Lucas wife and the editing save the movie. To be fair Mr Eagle is not in the creative sphere so he might not be aware ... he is entertaining ... when he is reacting to tv and movie lawyers mostly so the importance of editing is not in his sphere of awareness ... if you ask me it sounds like he should show some appreciation to his editing team and give them a raise ... sounds like they are grinding pretty heavily.

It's interesting he calls his channel's ensemble an "experiment". It seems very much not to me. The ensemble he's assembled is outstanding. Each one of the on-camera personalities is absolutely unique, eminently watchable, and speaks with unquestionable authority and believability. Could you do a deep dive on the Sean Reyes Long Island audit and the trespassing trial where he is accused of trespassing on Faheys private property.
People are vary confused on the property law of implied license Sean knew he didn't have implied license to enter from prior incidents where Fahey made it clear he didn't like Sean, and Sean accused him of assault that resulted in a lawsuit, that prior knowledge that he was not going to be welcomed on the property revoked his implied license to enter.
Also on his channel people are claiming the private road sign only applies to vehicles and Sean could enter the posted private road.
I'm really tired of all the people on his channel bad mouthing the court saying if he is found guilty then the judge is a tyrant or the system is corrupted.
We need a real lawyer to explain the reasons why the judge is likely to rule against him so people can understand the law and why this happened.
The judge still hasn't found him guilty, but if he does I don't trust Sean will tell his million plus followers the truth.

The editing is and always has been a painstaking and truly outstanding work of love and is literally the whole attraction of the channel. It explores illusions, fakes, and other confusing videos from other places by explaining the video editing used to create them, while displaying better video editing to make the point. That's the whole thing, so this is an example of a channel you absolutely could not farm out. And that has over 2.5 million subscribers.

A long, long time ago, I knew that I'd be going into business for myself. I've long-since sold the business and retired, but I realized that I should know the laws to some extent. During my summer sessions, I took a number of law classes at a nearby university. This has helped in ways that many people would overlook. Additionally, knowing your rights can be extremely important in your life. These lessons turned out to be invaluable along the way. Sure, I have a law firm on retainer, but I at least know enough to understand why I need a lawyer.
As for knowing your rights, I once kept a half-dozen Kansas City police busy because I refused to let them search my vehicle. They tried everything. One of the things they tried was to say that my refusal was cause for reasonable suspicion. Oh, man, I laughed. I laughed so hard that I think the officer legitimately wanted to punch me in the face.
Oh, I had nothing illegal in the vehicle. In fact, I'd just left after helping a Kansas town clean up after a major tornado. I was freshly retired and exploring Americana on a long road trip.
The police were pissed. They kept me there for about six hours, which amused me even more. They kept telling me that they were waiting for a drug dog. This amused me, as even if they did manage to fake a false positive, there was nothing illegal in the car. They never brought a dog team. Eventually, I kept asking if I could leave. They eventually relented and let me leave. The last thing the original officer said to me was to never return to Kansas or they'd find a reason to put me in jail.
Again, I was in Kansas to help Greensburg clean up after a devistating tornado that had wiped out 90% of the town.

LegalEagle is good at making law accessible especially the movie and TV breakdowns. But he has been outright wrong at times. Clear examples include the Kyle Rittenhouse analysis which was widely criticized by other lawyers for downplaying key self-defense elements under Wisconsin law the COPPA video which was called out by legal academics for missing important FTC regulatory exceptions and his Disney DeSantis Reedy Creek video which overstated how effectively Disney had locked in control. The same pattern shows up in many of his Trump related videos where confident claims and selective framing frequently failed to hold up once the actual legal outcomes arrived. Solid entertainment and intro education. Not a reliable final authority on contested issues. He only issue is his political bias which is evident in all his analysis.

Right at the end, Devin mentions bringing on other on-air talent where he personally isn't doing all the presenting. It seems to be working well for him. But that immediately makes me think of the contrast of some creators that took the opposite path. I'd love to hear from some of them especially focusing on the difference in these paths. Thinking Phil Defranco who tried to bring on other speakers who got rejected by the audience. Or the extreme case of Simon Whistler and his many, many channels that he is the face of. Maybe a follow-up with Matpat. I don't remember exactly when their interview was in relation to him retiring, but would be interesting to hear the long-term analysis of how it actually went in comparison to the expectation. Now, several years on, how are the channels going without his face? How bad was the viewer dropoff immediately after and has it recovered? Presumably there are some new viewers who found the channels since and don't even know Matpat. Etc.

When you really know law..listening to anyone is a almost guaranteed to be a disappointment. Only two minutes in and if you knew the truth you wouldn't even think to listen anymore than I have. The only thing law is in America is who gets to prove the supremacy to be part of the shadow government in arguing the Supreme Court's supremacy to copy the US Constitution into its own Court Rules and call the Congressional debate to write the US Constitution the powers of the Judiciary rather than the discretion of one, by arguing who's case ensures they have their own court to enforce their own personal interests by only selecting cases that they then believe would effect the majority of people or specifically targeted people who would then in turn make a personal interest for the Judicial officers themselves in the outcomes of the cases... So, really, if you haven't started there, the only thing as a practice you have done is aid and abet the insurrection. And that insurrection is a disease that spreads infecting everything it touches. Congress can claim judicial discretion. Cops are officers of the Legislature. The list goes on and never ends. The President is Congress and can go to war by just changing the definition of one without them. No one even needs to be a victim when the power you call to practice is in the disguise of another for there to be a right to action, but we are all the victims when there is none. And in less than two minutes, even people who would try more than others, wouldn't stand to last in time. And that..I know for sure...not one person has organized to ensure their practice was judicial and not Legislative... Except myself. And if that's the organized defense people need is one person ..oh well ..you're screwed..because I'll just save my self like you all have already attempted to do to me ..except I'm better at it and I will win at your own game.

some of the very best creators do their own editing, and you can really tell as time goes by. i watch Mat Armstrong every week and his editors have gotten so much better at their jobs to the point where they have final say now about how the video is presented. Alec Steele is another lad whose videos have gotten better since he took on Jaime, who is an absolute wizard with the editing tools. so whilst handing your editing off to someone from another country allows you more time to record more, you still have to allow time for run-throughs and possibly more editing..........!

It is literally one of the greatest tragedies of the last ten years that more hosts have been introduced to the LegalEagle channel. I never subscribed to those people. Even if it’s just Devin reading scripts others wrote it’s still a closer to what I signed up for. I can’t understand why we as consumers are agreeing to something that we didn’t order because we have sympathy for the staff. If you order a burger and they give you a salad you’re gonna send it back. But if I order Devin and I get Liz I’m expected to eat my vegetables?

Honey got absolutely wrecked, and rightly so. He just wasn't part of it after he made a video announcing he would be.
His contribution is bringing more attention to the matter, which is very welcome. I will say though that it's a bit odd his deciding factor for taking action was Megalag's video gaining a lot of likes.
Main thing I learned from this video is that his channel is a lot more staffed than I thought.
A few other things of note:
At 18:43 "there's not a single channel on YouTube where people watch it for the editing" my man needs to check out BrutalMoose. Pure gold.
At 21:06 "I think there are a lot of creators big and small who have gotten into trouble just by not really looking critically at sponsors" ...he's still sponsored by Factor, who among other things, massively underpay their workers and crush unions. Which for some unfortunate linking, Brutalmoose is strongly sponsored by HelloFresh, who have the same parent company as Factor. His comments will sometimes say "they don't deserve you promoting them". Oh, and Disney is sponsoring this very video, ouch.
Finally, at 34:23 "I never want to push myself on other people" (referring to his law firm), he advertises his law firm on literally every video. It's almost the only time he's in his own videos these days.

Wall of fallacies & defense of unnecessary, unethical, immoral practises — not a wall of philosophy, ethics & morals. No Ethos or Logos, only Pathos. (No credibility, no logic, only feelings.)
The non-vegan feels so insecure they had to write a wall of defensiveness.
I know it sucks to receive, but it means you are making inarguable ethical & moral points that the only way to argue against it is only with fallacies & feelings & fear. This person is projecting, don't absorb it. This is their feelings you can let pass through you instead.
Non-vegans (before they go vegan) feel a mix or combination of like something is being taken away that was never theirs in the first place, they would have to admit/realize the amount of lies they believed & repeated & didn't know. As well as people are scared to be wrong, instead of using it as a learning oppprtunity.
It's the similar to the 'don't give me spoilers' mindset because the information destroys the illusion — the illusion they are participating in & are a part of. They like all these good things, they like feeling good, they like believing/being good people. But they don't know how much they are lied to — & want to ignore/have been conditioned to ignore/ignorant to the bad parts — including what harms themselves & their loved ones & any other human they care about; let alone their victims. It feels like an attack to them regardless of how nice/kind/polite/blunt/dressed-up/undressed you tell them a "spoiler".
You just keep planting seeds & maybe some day they will start to nurture them because it's only up to them to want to grow. It hurts because we wish everyone wanted the veil ripped from them because truth matters more, but we are conditioned from childhood to avoid discomfort instead of sitting in it/with it & we are not taught to consider our future selves either — we are taught to ignore it for short-term gains, comfort, convenience, etc.
Just existing as an individual making changes will challenge people's thoughts, that's a good thing. Just also remember to ask yourself: is this person arguing to win — or to grow?
Most vegans have been non-vegan. And at some point we grew. If someone is only arguing to win, talk about their feelings, how they feel about themselves, how they were raised, how they were abandoned in a time of need or not, how they were hurt by someone & betrayed, stay in their feelings. Facts aren't going to help. But getting them to reflect on their own suffering that was ignored will help with opening their eyes. It helps to also notice how they are uncomfortable & how much they are willing to sit in discomfort before starting to avoid or use whataboutisms & so on.
Sucks that people try to put their issues on those who have a larger capacity — but it's theirs to deal with, not yours.

Don't know if they come back on that later in the video, but I was wondering if Paypal could also come back against Honey if the lawsuit bear fruit. The reason why I can see Paypal would do it is because if they pay 4B$ because Honey was profitable, first they now, as the owner are sue? And second, if Honey is in fact guilty, chance are that this app is dead and worthless for actions prior to the buying. So, basically, they had been "lied" on purchase.

I’m sorry, but I have no sympathy for creators caught out by Honey, as is too often the case, they will take the money without doing due diligence on the product. I installed the browser extension fairly early on, I then tested it and it quickly became apparent that the discounts they identified were NOT the best available. So I uninstalled it, had creators done this basic test they would have seen the product they were recommending was not fit for purpose. So I have no sympathy that they did not get their commission for a cra..y product.

I feel like Devin undervalued the editing here. It might just have been worded poorly, but while people don't intentionally watch for the editing most of the time it's still a key pillar in the video. However where some creators might be incorrect is that they're the best for the job. I think often you can find an editor that will do just as well.
From someone like an MKBHD that is going to be more challenging, but even he got editors that could match the quality they were seeking.
