So many YouTube creators perform the same content like the new trend of finding misplaced merchandise in grocery stores that they have to buy. As a viewer, recycled content is so annoying.

You're not petty, you have every right to be pissed. One time in grad school everyone had a partner to do a paper. Funny how I just watched your ghosted video and now this. Anyway, so over the weekend before the paper was due, I messaged my partner for his part of the work, He GHOSTED me. I panicked for a moment then I thought to myself, YOU CAN DO THIS AND YOU CAN SUBMIT THIS ON YOUR OWN, IT'S NOT MANDATORY FOR BOTH TO WORK ON ONE PAPER. That was the light bulb and I started crunching out the other half. Day of the submission, dude had the audacity to ask me "How the paper went?" I said FINE and he asked to see it which I allowed him and he said it only has your name on it.......I said no shit cause I'm the only one that did it and he thought I'd be forced to put his name. The professor asked why was my name the only one on the paper and I said cause my partner didn't do shit and ghosted me and expected me to put his name on it. He accepted that answer and I got an A anyway. I left it up to the professor to figure out who that jack@$$ was.

GUYS!! thank you for your kind words and love you have no idea how much your support means to me! I also didn't realise how quite so many of you already saw what was going on with this others creators content. I think what i'm going to do from now on, is if i see that she has blatantly copies any of my videos (not just 'inspired' - but actually copying the precise talking points and research etc) then I will have to start publically acknowledging it. I already have all the screen shots of the videos of mine that she has copied, down to title and thumbnails, AND i've also taken the liberty on the behalf of my fellow content creators to screenshots the videos she's copied from them - but i'm hoping that seeing this video and realising that after two years of me staying quiet and letting her profit off other creators hard work, that enough is enough, and i WILL start standing up for myself. If you can churn out 3 to 4 30 minute long video essays per week, when other creators (the ones who are actually doing the work) can only get one out per week, something is fishy. it speaks for itself. i dont want to report this creator or impact her channel, but im hoping after seeing this that she will realise that what she's doing is exploiting the work of others, and that she will tone it down of her own accord and create her own videos and do her own research. unlikely, probably - but we'll wait and see. xx

If someone's content is so similar, it makes a viewer less likely to watch or value as highly the original... it would be nice if youtube didn't just do AI filtering in the future, but also made it a "report" option similar to harassment. Yesterday I was watching a creator that I had never seen before and the video was talking about a situation that was on TikTok and literally the entire video was just her reacting silently to the videos as they played, but she literally would play TikTok videos from different people that were saying the same exact thing over and over. And it’s like I can’t tell what’s worse like taking someone’s exact script and then saying it yourself or ripping videos off TikTok and then just posting those as the entire video and never actually having any commentary about it or actually saying anything about it… there are so many lazy creators out there. It is insane.

As a content creator i’ve been trough the same thing as you, so I totally get how you feel.. it’s really frustrating to see someone just perfectly copying your original made content especially when they’re a bigger content creator. yess!!! Honestly, this has changed on YouTube so much in the last 5 years, pretty much since COVID and beyond, where the blatantness of copying is just so out in the open now. It's almost become accepted that you could copy people. Maybe because the platform got so big that these creators thought, "Oh, no one would notice," which is true in a sense. There's a good chance that people didn't watch both versions of that video, but oh my goodness, how have we lost the whole plot?
What is the point of being a creator if all you were going to do is just copy other people's work? (That's a trick question. Stephanie already mentioned it. It's money. That's the answer. ) Instagram has it bad too, let's be honest, but at least generally, those videos do not take nearly as much time to make as a full YouTube video. I'm excited to see what YouTube does and how they actually attend to policing this.

Does anyone remember the Beige/ Grey Esthetic? It was all over the news.. kind of a BIG deal when it happened but it was getting attention for all the wrong reasons. The media was making a joke of it. In reality, a creator was being STALKED & COPIED to the 3rd degree. Girl 1 alleged that another girl was copying her content, TO THE "T". It was on Instagram, pretty sure. Well, I forget how it got resolved or what, because the young lady that was being copied had many things going on in her life. She just didn't have the time, energy and or money to continue the fight. Everything Girl 1 posted, Girl 2 would post almost immediately after, same content, same thumbnail, same angles of filming the same backdrops, same doormat outside her door, same light fixture, same items from a shopping haul, microwave etc. You name it, she copied it. She was copying her outfits, hairstyle, hair COLOR. It was beyond creepy at that point because she even went to her SAME FILMING LOCATIONS. The 2 young ladies lived near each other. They had met at a mixer event or something of the sort, for creators to network. I do believe that Girl 1 had tried to ask Girl 2, of she'd stop, but with these types of people, if you ask nicely they'll act like your doing something wrong to them or some crap. You know? Defensive all the way but if you don't say anything, when the spotlight finally hits the stage, they'll default to, "I wish you would have asked me. I would have taken it down." Yada yada yada,,, whatever whatever, right?! So if you DO say anything, anything at all, they'll most likely gaslight you to the MOON ? & if you DON'T, they'll use it against you later. Pretending like it would have made a shred of a difference in any of it. Don't waste your time on this person. Don't let it suck the JOY out of what you do ✨️ Not only is your content special because of you're brilliance, it shines because its coming from you. Is it Lael Hansen? I've almost scratch my head, when stumbling on, to her YouTube channel. It reminded me, of your thumbnail, and YouTube content alot! ?? Otherwise, I don't get the feeling. It also over-saturates the YouTube “market” for us viewers & makes it hard for us to find actual quality content. For example try finding a decent asmr/ambiance seasonal background video… you have to scroll through endless AI slop & it’s all THE SAME junk over & over again, it feels just like scrolling on Amazon where hundreds shitty products have all copied each other so there’s nothing but the same trendy junk product & you can find no variation in style, design, materials, etc. even the lazy absurdly fake copy/paste stock photos are *identical*
I hate seeing the same thing happen here on YouTube when it’s supposed to be a place of creativity & uniqueness. Anyways I don’t know how you wouldn’t be pissed about your videos getting copied, I’d be LIVID. It's crazy because I came across your channel first and really liked it (still). A few days later YouTube recommended me this girl's channel ? (that's wild YouTube!!) and I didn't know at the time she was copying your content, actually I had a crazy experience: I was watching one of her videos and I had this gut feeling like "something is off", something about her expression or the way she presented the topic. It felt like she was just checking points and completing a chore, it didn't feel authentic!

But it’s not lael… idk about the comments but lael has been posting this content for years, she’s been posting Gen Z, beauty standards, filler, trends, surgical enhancement, Hollywood.. etc commentary for years now. The forehead kiss thing, it’s not just one YouTuber. I’ve seen at least 3 other than lael do it. Lael’s commentary is clearly her personality. Plus, I love Stephanie but it’s not like the topics she’s talking about are exclusively noted down by her & never noticed by anyone else. Neither she or lael are the ones having a revelation & are bringing awareness to something no one noticed before them.
