Who cares - the problem is all the DEBRIS thats out there, microscopic dust and DIAMOND particles that could shred your "Thruster" in a matter of movements. Radiation that can melt you. the list goes on.
WHO CARES if how long it takes to get there - we do not have the means to built a spacecraft that can even withstand the journey.

I think for longer distances than Moon, it will be mandatory to build vehicles on orbit as a combination of modules - each of them optimized for its specific purpose (crew, life support, energy, thrusters). In fact a space station that has to be converted to a ship, once completed.
So this will be more or less the standard for missions to come. Orbital docking/coupling is not a big issue anymore. Its done with ISS missions regularly.

I think Starship could do it in 4 months, fully re-fueled in Earth orbit and without the 200 ton payload, or even 200 ton extra propellants. In theory a traditional chemical rocket could do it in 3 months. SpaceX will be working towards that because it makes it possible to do more flights within a single transfer window, which drastically lowers the cost of a re-usable rocket.

I think depending on the designs, in earth ordbit building is interesting, but working on or in some type of station on the Moon seems like a safer place to build craft prior to deeper space travel.
Once there, building, testing inspecting, all become things you can do from the ground.
I think about how long NASA and Aero Space companies take to build a successful system, and I think about attempting to do that in orbit, It seems unfeasible. At least on the moon, you could possibly have 3D printers and some sort of manufacturing, a place for rotating work crews, a place to operate from that if built correctly, could shelter the personnel from the hazards of space.
I imagine a sub teranian base.
